Looking Your Best - Makeup On The Go

Sometimes life’s trials and errors can get in the way of our self-care. Sometimes being a Mom or wife and staying at home gets you into a groove that's not so groovy - like not doing hair and makeup. It's easy to get in this pickle - if you rarely need to leave the house. This happens a lot to new moms, or work-from home ladies.

Grooming is as important as taking little Suzy to school, or giving your boss that file he wanted on his desk the day before he ever asked you to get it. Self-care is necessary because if you don’t care for yourself, it then becomes difficult for you to care for others.

You don't have to be that boring and bland person who never leaves the house.

Women who have the weight, yet blessing, of multiple roles like wife, mother and worker will find it really hard to find some time to do their make up every morning or to do their hair in some kind of presentable/fashionable way. Well, we have some tips for you to keep in the routine of looking your best:

1. Twist and PIN! (your hair!) You should have a few hair pins, clips and decorative sticks always handy. In most cases, you can simply twist your hair up and pin it back in less than thirty seconds with the help of some hair accessories, and you look great and like you spent way more than thirty seconds on your hair. Then you can use non sticky hair spray or spray gel in order to keep that great look in place.

2. You can apply mascara on your eyes in just a couple of seconds! A layer of mascara can take you from plain to plain-fabulous in seconds - and you can even dust it softly - if only to bring your eyes out more if you want.

3. Get glossy... Applying some tinted or flavored lip gloss will give your lips a soft look, but you can attract much more attention to yourself by using some simple lipstick to give your lips more color!

Taking care of your body and implementing some skincare can improve your lip health, your dark eye circles, and can even help hide, or even reduce, those wrinkles that every woman worries about as they age. It's a must-do for consistent positive self-image. Get up and go!

Summer time is coming up quickly! That’s right ladies and gentlemen - bathing suit time!

Perhaps you are wondering what sort of hazard might surround the wearing of bathing suits, enjoying the Vitamin D and sunshine, and summer air...

Well, it's all of the exposed skin that exists when wearing a bathing suit that can ever so easily be harmed – and, unintentionally of course. Before bathing suit season even comes, and throughout the summer - you must take measures to protect your skin. This way, you're not only protected - but your skin will already sport a healthy glow - even before you slip on the suit!

How do you prevent this harming of your skin and make it to where your skin is already summer ready before summer even comes along? Here's some pre-summer skincare tips:

  • Try to protect yourself from the sun - sit in the shade, or stay indoors when possible -and.,. more specifically - try to avoid the sun, if at all possible, within the hours of 10 A.M and 4 P.M, because that is when the sun’s rays are at their strongest.
  • Wear clothing that protects your skin! Even if it may sound a little odd, especially when it’s so warm outside during the summer heat, try to wear long sleeve shirts, long pants, and even a big hat if you want, to try and keep the sun from getting to you.
  • Use Sunscreen - When it is summer time, and you are in a bathing suit, make sure you apply plenty of sun screen 30 minutes before going outside and try to put some more on every two hours.
Be Kind to your Skin. It really is important to incorporate these tips and others into your daily routine - and make your great skincare HABIT!
  • Limit your bath time, because a lot of times hot water and long showers or baths can remove oils from your skin.
  • Avoid strong soaps because these can strip oil from your skin.
  • Shave carefully! To protect your skin, put on some shaving cream, lotion or gel before shaving.
  • Pat your skin dry after washing or bathing, gently, so that some moisture stays on your skin.
  • Moisturize dry skin by finding a moisturizer that fits you and your skin type!

Don’t worry, though. If for some reason you forget these things, Le Beau Visage Medical Spa is here to help with our many different cosmetic services, ranging from microdermabrasion, which is a painless and quick treatment that helps to improve the appearance of skin texture, wrinkles, and color, to chemical peels, which leaves you with fresh, vibrant skin in the end - to injectable cosmetic treatments, dermal fillers, medical grade skincare products and more.
